AtWork Expands in San Diego with New Location

May 13, 2024, KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – AtWork® is proud to announce the opening of a new location in San Diego East, owned by franchisee Firas Korkis, an immigrant from Iraq who has built a successful career in the United States. The new office in La Mesa is open for business and extends AtWork’s presence in Southern California and joins Korkis’ existing location in Chula Vista.

Korkis migrated from Iraq to Michigan at the age of 15, quickly learning English and becoming a valuable member of his community. His career path began in accounting and finance, leading to roles at Deloitte and Kaiser Permanente. After gaining experience working in staffing, Korkis was inspired to open his AtWork franchise, recognizing the potential to help others find jobs and grow businesses.

Before joining AtWork, Korkis gained experience in franchising as the owner of several tax-preparation locations in Michigan and California. His prior experience as an entrepreneur taught him valuable lessons in managing teams, customer service, and running a successful business.

The new San Diego East office is at 5480 Baltimore Dr. Suite 200 La Mesa, California. It will offer a wide range of staffing services, from light industrial and manufacturing roles to professional and administrative positions.
