Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii Bolsters Marketing Team with Franchise Veterans Ivy Hanks and Eleanor Schwartz
With Eyes on Double-Digit Growth This Year, Hanks and Schwartz are Poised to Support the Hawaiian Coffee Franchise’s Next Development Chapter
June 05, 2024, DENVER – Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii, a leading coffee franchise renowned for its premium sourcing of Hawaiian coffees and memorable cafés, recently welcomed Ivy Hanks as Director of Franchise Marketing and Eleanor Schwartz as Director of Brand Engagement. Hanks and Schwartz will shepherd Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii towards success with new brand elevation strategies and fresh perspectives backed by their respective experiences in restaurant and coffee marketing.
Hanks and Schwartz’s appointments enhance the brand’s momentum for 2024, and prime the marketing team for exciting developments throughout the rest of the year and beyond. Bad Ass Coffee aims to open an additional 20 stores and secure agreements for an additional 36+ locations by the end of the calendar year. This will provide ample opportunity for Hanks to champion franchise marketing initiatives for both new and established stores. Focused more on overall brand messaging, Schwartz will enrich the brand’s connection to the history of Hawaiian coffee and expand its programs and partnerships.
Atlanta native Ivy Hanks started her career planning corporate events before transitioning into food and beverage marketing. She joined Tropical Smoothie Cafe in 2019, where she gained a comprehensive foundation in franchise marketing. During her time at Tropical Smoothie, Hanks managed limited-time offering (LTO) menu execution, brand marketing and grand openings – all of which primed her to take on the responsibility of leading franchising marketing initiatives at Bad Ass Coffee.
Eleanor Schwartz made her way to Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii after working in brand and marketing at Caribou Coffee. Prior to embarking on her current career trajectory in marketing, Eleanor worked on a Kona coffee farm in Hawaii. She credits this experience with igniting her love for Hawaii and its unique coffee culture. Having lived and worked on the Islands for years, Schwartz’s background also includes time at Honolulu-based digital marketing agency Wahine Media, where she managed a diverse portfolio of tourism and restaurant clientele that set the stage for the work she will be doing with Bad Ass Coffee.
“Since its inception, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii has been as much about telling the stories of our suppliers and the history of Hawaiian coffee as it has been about celebrating the accomplishments of our franchisees and business as a whole; I cannot think of two more qualified individuals to welcome to our ‘ohana and guide our brand into its next chapter,” said Scott Snyder, CEO of Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii. “Both Ivy and Eleanor bring proven track records of boosting engagement across other franchise brands to Bad Ass Coffee, and we are excited to see the positive impact that their creativity and strategic thinking will have on the success of our franchisees.”
Bad Ass Coffee’s recent marketing ventures have contributed to the brand’s recognition among the coffee and QSR industries. Notably, the brand ranked on QSR’s 2023 40/40 List as one of America’s hottest emerging fast casual brands and also landed on the prestigious 2023 Inc 5000 ranking.
