Byrider Opens Its Third North Carolina Location in Jacksonville
July 07, 2026 // FranchisePR.com // JACKSONVILLE, N.C. – Byrider has announced the opening of a franchised location serving Jacksonville. Led by North Carolina residents and entrepreneurs Darcy Roessler, Christopher Thomas and Thomas Swigart, Byrider in Jacksonville will celebrate its debut with a grand opening event on Thursday, July 30.
“Our customers don’t always have access to the same financial resources as others, which is why we’re proud to bring a new path forward to the Jacksonville community,” said Roessler. “We believe in the business model—which combines used car sales, finance and service all under one roof—and the opportunity it creates to support customers along their financial journey. We’ve seen firsthand how Byrider can make a meaningful difference to community members seeking to own and finance a quality vehicle, and we look forward to bringing that same opportunity to drivers across Onslow County.”
The official grand opening celebrations will take place on July 30 at the location: Community members can expect a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening.
Thomas and Swigart opened their first Byrider dealership in Raleigh in 2009 and welcomed Roessler to the team in 2015. The three partners bring 50+ years of combined experience with Byrider and in the broader automotive sales industry. The group owns multiple Byrider locations in Raleigh and Jacksonville, as well as other car dealerships.
“Darcy, Chris and Tom are fantastic operators with extensive knowledge in the automotive industry and they excel in customer service. We’re lucky to have them on our team and leading our entry into Jacksonville,” said Mike Onda, CEO of Byrider. “They share our commitment to providing an affordable path to car ownership, and I’m confident they will strengthen our presence while building meaningful connections across North Carolina.”
Founded in 1989 as JD Byrider by James Devoe, the Byrider Buy Here Pay Here business model and credit-building programs combine vehicle sales, in-house financing and on-site service to support customers throughout the automotive ownership journey.
With its proven “Buy, Finance, Drive On” model, Byrider makes car ownership possible for customers who may not qualify for traditional bank financing.
