Esther Ozue Provides Lifesaving Care and Earns 2026 National Caregiver of the Year

One of the families Esther supports is an aging couple facing significant health challenges. Over the past two years, Esther’s presence has been transformative. The couple’s daughter-in-law, Henriette, recalled, “Esther walked in, met our parents, and instinctively took charge, providing exactly what was needed—often before we even realized it ourselves.”

The couple’s son explained that his parents had always been strong and independent. Esther entered their lives at a time when both were struggling to maintain that independence. “From the day she arrived,” he said, “Esther almost immediately became the glue of the staff of caregivers who continue to lovingly care for my parents.”

Because she knew the couple so well, Esther could detect subtle changes in their behavior that others might overlook. Her intuition and attentiveness ultimately saved a life.

Henriette shared that one day, Esther arrived for her shift and immediately sensed something was wrong with Henriette’s mother-in-law. Without hesitation, Esther called 911 and ensured her client received emergency care. Against all odds, Henriette’s mother-in-law returned home after an extensive hospital stay.

“The doctor confirmed what we already knew in our hearts,” Henriette said. “Time was absolutely critical, and without Esther’s swift intervention, the outcome could have been devastating. Her quick thinking gave our mother another chance at life.”

Beyond her exceptional caregiving, Esther is also one of Right at Home North Dallas’s strongest advocates. Melissa White, the office’s Vice President of Operations, shared, “Esther is proud of the company’s ethics and dedication to the families we serve. To Henriette’s family, Esther has become irreplaceable. “Her compassion, dedication, and unwavering support have made her a cherished member of our family forever,” said Henriette.
