MilkShake Factory Celebrates 10 Years in Downtown Pittsburgh on September 19

Located at 314 Fifth Avenue on the first floor of PNC Plaza, the store has spent the past decade serving Pittsburgh residents, Downtown workers, visitors and sports fans in the heart of the city.

To thank Pittsburgh for a decade of support, MilkShake Factory Downtown will celebrate with buy one, get one free milkshakes all day on September 19. The first 100 guests will also receive a limited-edition Pittsburgh MilkShake Factory T-shirt, while the first guest in line will receive a special gift basket. Additional giveaways and surprises will take place throughout the day.

When the Downtown store opened in 2016, it brought the family’s more than century-old chocolate-making tradition to Fifth Avenue with a space designed to celebrate MilkShake Factory’s Pittsburgh roots. The location incorporates distinctive touches that pay homage to the family’s history, including its oversized milk bottle chandelier, which has become an iconic feature of the Downtown store.

Over the decade that followed, the Fifth Avenue location became both a flagship for MilkShake Factory and a part of the fabric of Downtown Pittsburgh. The store has been at the center of memorable hometown moments, from the brand’s longstanding relationship with the Pittsburgh Penguins to fan-favorite creations including the Jake Shake and Rusty Shake, while serving generations of Pittsburgh residents, workers, visitors and sports fans.

“This store has had a front-row seat to an incredible decade in Pittsburgh and in MilkShake Factory’s own story,” added Edwards Manatos. “There are so many memories tied to this location, from celebrating with Penguins fans to welcoming people Downtown for a shake or chocolate after work, a game, or a night out. Today, MilkShake Factory offers a menu built around handcrafted desserts, including handspun milkshakes made with housemade ice cream, sundaes, Molten Cups and premium chocolates rooted in the family’s more than 100-year chocolate-making tradition. While the brand has grown well beyond its Pittsburgh roots, the Downtown location remains an important connection between MilkShake Factory’s history and its future.
