Office Evolution Makes Historic Move With Opening in Newtown Square, PA

Owned and operated by Andrea O’Shea and Greg Carlson, the workspace is located on the campus of Newtown Square’s historic Ellis Preserve.

“We’re thrilled to offer this flexible space to our members,” said Andrea, who joins Office Evolution after a career in accounting. “It’s beautifully landscaped grounds and historic architecture make for an inspiring place to work. We’ve created workspaces designed to foster productive energy and are highly flexible for the changing needs of small businesses and solopreneurs.”

The Ellis Preserve opened in 1919 as the Charles E. Ellis School for Fatherless Girls. It was endowed by businessman and philanthropist Charles E. Ellis, who left most of his $4.6 million estate for the school’s creation and operation. It was sold in 1978 to benefit the Charles Ellis Trust, which still provides scholarships to girls. The former school grounds were acquired in 2004 by Equus Capital Partners, which has created a distinctive, integrated campus for offices, retail, residential and community use.

Andrea and Greg decided to locate their franchise at Ellis Preserve after visiting the property with Equus’ vice president, Neil Gallagher.

“Neil talked us through some of this history of Ellis Preserve and made us feel welcome right away,” Greg said. “We are happy to be part of this amazing project, which has inspired us to think outside the box and inject our space with personality and style. Our members don’t want ordinary – we’re going for extraordinary, and Ellis Preserve is exactly that.”

Located on the first floor, Newtown Square’s Office Evolution has a soundproofed podcast studio and a new twist on meeting spaces: the Walken Room, a small conference room with two walking pads instead of seats, so two people can get in some mild movement while meeting, brainstorming or attending trainings.

Free parking is available in a covered garage, and a heated walkway keeps snow at bay in winter. Nearby services include several top restaurants, retail stores, and fitness centers.

Andrea is a CPA with 20+ years’ experience in multiple disciplines, including Financial Reporting, Auditing, Internal Controls and Record Keeping. An innovative entrepreneur with 5 years of experience in two residential real estate ventures, she has a proven history of leadership and strong people management skills. She is interested in working on collaborative projects that value both her historic corporate experience and her entrepreneurial mindset.

Greg loves to work with his hands and is skilled in a broad variety of quality improvement tasks including, but not limited to, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work and groundskeeping. He spent 16+ years primarily supporting the Georgiadis Realty in Queens, NY where he was the Superintendent for their entire portfolio, which encompassed no less than 5 buildings and 70+ tenants at any given time. In connection with this, he obtained certification from NYC in Property Management and Building Maintenance. In 2022, Greg relocated to the suburbs of Philadelphia, where he manages his own residential real estate ventures.
