Wichita Will Get 'Extra with Every Bite' as Newk’s Eatery Launches First Kansas Location

December 08, 2025 // FranchisePR.com // WICHITA, Kan. – Newk’s Eatery debuts its first Sunflower State location on Dec. 10 at The Waterfront on Wichita’s East Side, the new eatery invites guests to enjoy fresh meals and a welcoming atmosphere. The dining room can seat up to 146 guests and has one of the largest Wichita flag murals in the city.

The grand opening begins with a VIP event on Saturday, the 6th, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10th. The first 100 guests through the doors on opening day will receive either a free slice of cake or a free drink.

“We have been looking forward to bringing Newk’s Eatery to Wichita for a long time,” said Melody Matulewic, franchise owner of Newk’s Eatery. “Our team values hospitality and service and we believe this community will connect with that. Opening here allows us to share food that is made with care and welcome people into a space that feels positive and comfortable.”

Co-owner Scott Hatchett added that the menu will offer something familiar to all kinds of guests.

“Newk’s Eatery has a warm approach to gathering around fresh food,” said Hatchett. “Whether people want to dine in or take a meal home, we want this location to be a place where people feel appreciated and enjoy good flavor at their own pace. We are excited to introduce Wichita to Newk’s.”

Newk’s Wichita will operate daily from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Guests can expect a bright dining room, attentive service and a range of choices suited for lunch, dinner or take-home meals.
